In a previous DIY post, I wrote recipe for hair oil infused with neem, however most of the oils are used for a specific hair/skin type.

Lot of people use the oil that is the most accessible and this might get them into a little problem as oil that surely easily found doesn't necessarily need to be doing any good to your hair. What I mean is some oils are meant for dry hair, but are not really good to use directly on your scalp as they can be too thick and clog your pores which will only create more problems.

Here you'll find out when to use coconut, argan, macadamia, almond, marula or baobab oil.

Coconut oil is amazing for scalp care and nourishing your hair showering it with moisture, vitamins and essential fatty acids. HOWEVER, it's not for all hair types.

If you have problem with dandruff that has a fungal component - you can safely use coconut oil and it will help with that. But people who do not have this kind of problem should probably not apply coconut oil directly on your scalp as it can clog the pores. Also, if you have extremely dry or coarse hair you should probably not use this type of oil but rather argan or marula oil. If you on the other hand have normal, fine and shiny hair can using this oil make sure that they are keeping all the protein inside.

Argan oil contains a huge amount of vitamin E and fatty acids. It can be used as a moisturizer, conditioner and softener for skin and hair. It is best for dry and frizzy hair.

It makes dry and coarse hair turn softer and shinier, it promotes healthy hair growth as it contains antioxidants, which boosts cells and encourage them to produce healthy hair. It fights dandruff and dry scalp, and also helps to undo some damage done by hair dye or styling heat tools. It also can help with split ends.

Macadamia oil is best for extremely dry and damaged hair. It is rich in antioxidant that prevents loss of moisture, and fatty acids that help to add shine, strengthen and nourish the hair follicles, which in turn fight hair loss and brittle strands. It is number one product for curly hair.

Almond oil is lighter oil then macadamia oil which makes it more suitable for normal to dry hair. However, even tho it's lighter it still has a lot of antioxidants, vitamin E, fatty acids, protein and is packed with magnesium. It helps boost the hair growth, and prevent breakage. If used weekly it can help with reducing scalp redness, irritations, and dandruff.

Marula oil is suitable for any hair type. It has a high amount of antioxidants, vitamin C and fatty acids such as omega -6 and omega -9 which protect your hair and skin from the sun, pollution, and wind. This is what makes it a really good choice for the summer time, or windy seasons. This is a very light oil (read, the molecules are very tiny) which is perfect for a fast absorption and deeper nourishment treatment. You can even use it on clean, dried hair and will not leave the greasy residue.

Baobab oil is packed with antioxidants, fatty acids and vitamin A, D, E and F which are responsible to boost the cell regeneration. I don't know much about this oil but apparently it makes your hair grow faster.
