Dry hands hack - hydrating mask
I never really thought I will be the one to write about care for dry hands as I am one of those people who forgets to carry a hand cream with me even if my hands are bleeding.
However, about two weeks ago I had a little bleach mishap....
Let's just say I was playing with bleach and having no gloves in the house didn't stop me. I mean, I watched ( a few years back) videos of people bleaching their hair without using gloves and they seemed fine, "why the hell shouldn't I be!?".
Let me tell you something, I will never touch bleach again unless there are some thick gloves to protect the skin.
My skin was fine at first, I mean it felt dry and...... well, not good, but it was ok. I thought that after few days it will get better. And maybe it would if I actually used some hand creams or whatever, which I didn't. So my skin ended up breaking, bleeding and even peeling off.
Not a good sight.
Right then and there it was FINALLY clear to me "My hands need some attention, you better move it!".
Obviously, this was only one week after the mishap happened, but better late than never, right?
So I went to the drug store and bought some hydrating face mask. Since I already had all kinds of hand creams at home I didn't bother to look for a new one. I started with the "revive mission", which point was basically: hydrate, hydrate, HYDRATE!!!!
I started off with a mask, left it for 20 minutes, rinsed it, put hand cream, and before I went to bed I would put an organic cream made of everlasting flower essential oil. The last cream is used a lot in Croatia (at least I know it was always in my household). It's amazing for all kinds of wounds, burns, infections and very dry skin.
I've been using this regime for a week now and my skin is back to its (almost) normal self so I stopped using the creams (because of my laziness mostly), but one thing that I can't really stop doing is using a hydrating mask on my hands. It just somehow got stuck in my skin care regime. Since I also started using the hydrating mask on my face every morning recently, so why not put it also on my hands, right? Besides, I always seem to leave hand creams at home and when I am home I have better things to do then to remember to put some cream on my hands.
So for all the lazy people out there, if you are one of those who forgets to carry a hand cream with you during the winter (and you really shouldn't), I definitely suggest putting mask while you're watching TV or working on your computer, no matter how cheap or expensive it is - you're skin will be thankful.
