Face massage
Lately, I am bumping into random posts about face massage, so I guess this beauty trick is going trough some kind of renaissance.
I am not here to claim that I know a lot about this matter, but I do know few things. For example, how good face massage is if you perform it daily for few minutes. How amazing it is for circulation, and how good it is for firming your skin.
At least that is everything I noticed since I added face massage into my daily routine few years ago.
About 2 years ago I bumped on spoon face massage. The main tool here (you guessed well) is a spoon, but not any kind of spoon, it's the chinese ceramic spoon (or massaging tool).
Why only chinese spoon? Because the western style spoon is mostly made of metal which can be tough on your skin, sure there are plastic spoons and ceramic spoons too but then we have another problem as western style spoon is quite sharp and it would create more damage than good. So if you don't have this kind of spoon better to stir clear of this massage method or you can use your fingers.
This massage is supposed to help with: - face puffiness - releasing toxins and fluid retention - improving blood circulation - firming your skin
I used it for a while myself, but I realized it's probably not the type of face massage for me as my face is not really chubby and I don't remember the last time my face bloated. However, I did see the change in my skin, as it felt firmer and it helped with my skin problems.
**The important thing is not to expect too much, be realistic. It definitely can't change your face shape, but it can help with defining the lines.
***Also, you shouldn't use this massage if you have an extream case of acne (and avoid if you have any active acne aka red monsters) because it can actually turn into a really painful hell.
If you want to look more into this type of massage here is the video (skip the video to 8:35 for the massage tutorial)
Another massage that I started with maybe 8 months ago is Tanaka face massage. Ok, so far I have nothing but words of praise for this one. I use it on my daily routine when I'm actually taking make-up off my face. And it is really working!
This one will not magically change your face, but it will help with: - skin sagging - improve blood circulation - get rid of dark circles - any pimples you might have
Yukuko Tanaka, who invented this massage says that it will also help with fine lines and wrinkles (she claims that if you start with this massage in early age you will have a smaller number of fine lines and wrinkles than you would normally develop over time), with this one I am still not sure (obviously), and I don't really care that much about it as it helped A LOT with my acne problem. YAY!
**It is not as severe as the face massage I wrote about earlier so you can do it even if you have acne. Just make sure you wash + desinfect your hands before you start the massage.
It is a really simple massage, you don't need any tool like in the previous one. You will only need some kind of massage oil, or you can use (like me) a cleansing milk. Also, it really doesn't matter when you will do this massage, be it evening or morning, when you wake up or when you are going to bed. I do it when I'm removing my make-up, mostly because I am really lazy and trying to save some time. Besides the cleansing milk works best when you massage it into the skin. Two birds with one stone, right?
It is said you need around 9 minutes to do this massage, but you can cut down to as much as you need. You also don't really need to do all the steps, you can only focus on problematic areas.

Whichever you choose to do here are some tips: - always use some kind of oily fluid when you're doing massage. This is to prevent friction which can cause wrinkles and can harm your skin - don't ever go over 20 minutes when massaging your face, massaging is good but not if you do it excessively - don't use too much of pressure, otherwise, you can harm your skin - Don’t use this massage method when you are sick or have lymphopathia
